Blessed City Fellowship Temple

core beliefs

Bible

We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God.

  • That the 66 books of the Old and New Testament were inspired by the Spirit of God as originally written

  • That the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct · 2 Timothy 3:16

God

We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three manifestations as the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost

Jesus Christ

We believe in the absolute and essential deity of our Lord Jesus Christ

  • In His eternal existence in pre-incarnate glory

  • In His work of creation, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death and bodily resurrection

  • In His triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the absolute and essential deity, and in the personality of the Holy Spirit

  • Who convinces of sin, of righteousness and of judgment

  • Who regenerates, indwells, seals, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ

  • Who baptizes believers at conversion into the Body of Christ and bestows upon them His gifts sovereignly as He wills and fills those yielded to Him

Mankind

We believe that Adam was divinely created in the image of God

  • That by the sin of disobedience he fell from that state

  • That all his posterity inherited spiritual depravity and defilement

  • That all men therefore are guilty before God and condemned to physical and spiritual death

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by the sovereign grace of God

  • That by the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a propitiatory death

  • That justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • That those whom God has effectually called shall be divinely preserved and ultimately perfected in the image of the Lord

Mission Statement and Doctrines of Faith

Mission Statement

Blessed City Fellowship Temple endeavors to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministries, of the universal church, by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us and by equipping others to do the same.

Doctrines of Faith

These core beliefs make up the foundation upon which all our ministry endeavors are based.

* We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17.

* We believe that there is one God, eternally existent and presented in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 John 5:7.

* We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24, 32-34; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15.

* We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Ghost. Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7.

* We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Ghost, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10.

* We believe in water baptism, by immersion, in the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38 and 4:12.

* We believe in the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) 1 Corinthians 11:23-29.

* We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15.

* We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church. 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23.

* We believe that the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (helping followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ) is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15.

* We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.

* We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism. Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15.

* We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen. Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10

Statement of Beliefs

WE BELIEVE

We believe that there is only ONE God who is infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes, and purposes as well as omniscient and omnipresent. He is FATHER in CREATION, SON in REDEMPTION, and HOLY SPIRIT in us TODAY.

We believe in the virgin birth. Jesus was both human and divine. He was God Manifested in the Flesh.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. It is to be used as a weapon to defeat Satan, withstand evil, and bring change to our psychological, physical, & spiritual lives.

We believe in the canonical scriptures and use the King James Version in conjunction with other Bible versions in all worship services.

We believe in the changing power of prayer and that it is communicating with God. Its purpose is to get your spirit closer to God. It changes your attitude, affects the enemy and others, and changes heaven.

We believe that faith is the absolute stone foundation for salvation, and except a man is born of Water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Salvation is available to all. Man must first REPENT, a turning from a spirit of abhorrence to sin that ignites change and turning one’s heart, mind, & spirit of honor towards God and His will.

We believe that repentance is not the only and final step for sinners but the sinner must be immersed in WATER; BAPTIZED in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and receive the gift of the HOLY GHOST with the initial sign of speaking in a language that is not learned as the Spirit gives utterance according to Acts 2:38-39 then displaying the Fruit of the Spirit as revealed in Galatians 5:22-23.

We believe in a holy, sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion, and foot washing. We believe also in the glorious catching away, the great resurrection (“The Rapture”) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take his people to Heaven.

We believe that the Holy Ghost is the Regenerative Power of God to all who believe, repent and are baptized. The Holy Ghost is necessary for salvation, will lead us into all truth, and acts as a discerner and intercessor.

We believe in the five-fold ministry of 1) apostles, 2) prophet, 3) evangelist, 4) pastors, and 5) teachers; and the three-fold purpose of the ministry: 1) perfecting the saints, 2) work of the ministry, and 3) edifying of the body of Christ.

We believe in the divine order of the family: 1) Christ, 2) Husband, 3) Wife, 4) children; and the divine institution of marriage between one man(male) and one woman(female).

We believe in the financial support of the ministry by the giving of tithes, offerings, and seed sowing which supplies the needs of the SERVANTHOOD of God and the MINSTRELS, WIDOWS, ORPHANS, THE STRANGER in our midst and those that HAVE NEED, last but never least, The Sanctuary.
